The newly created filter, also if flagged as selected, are not included in the "Execute Now" action, unless they are selected by user (focus problem in dialog)

Does this happens in -safe-mode too (http://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode ) ?

Yes... this happens also in safe mode!
Nothing in Tools -> error console ? Nothing in the filter log ?
Tools -> error log : nothing!

Question: where is filter log??? I can enable "log filter activity" but where I can see logged info? There is nothing in Tools -> Activity registry

It's visible at the same place where you can enable log filter activity (exact same windows)
???? where? I attach a screenshot...
Hum ....

Guys ideas ?
Stefano, if you create the filter as in comment #0 and then after

>* Move to ... (or what you want)
>* Click OK

you selected your newly filter you can execute it (...dopo aver creato il filtro, selezionalo): can you confirm that work?
Aureliano your example works BUT (this is the real problem) if you have more than one filter, button is always enabled and the last inserted filter is not applyed.
Steps to reproduce:
* Tools -> Filters
* add 1 or more filters that do nothing
* close Filter windows
* Tools -> Filters
* add filter for moving "LibreOffice" messages to a specific folder
* click "Execute now" (LibreOffice messages are not moved!!!!!)
* select "LibreOffice" filter from list
* re-click "Execute now" (LibreOffice messages are *finally* moved)

"Execute now" button must execute all checked filters and does not require to highlight specific filters to execute them
Some collegues have ~80 filters, when migrating from Outlook to TB3.1 this a real annoying issue

So this just seems to be a UI problem, that the newly created filter does not keep focus. You need to select it again to run it.

Aureliano, what state is 'flagged as selected' ?

I can't see this on TB7 and 8, on linux. It may depend on the graphics toolkit used. Can anybody confirm this has changed?
Version: Trunk → 1.9.2 Branch
I can confirm this bug on TB8 on Windows
You are right. On Windows I still see it in TB10.

I think this is fixed with bug 596885 since TB12. Please reopen if you disagree.
