User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:2.0b9pre) Gecko/20110102 Firefox/4.0b9pre
Build Identifier:

Text in all dialogs should be selectable/copyable to make bug reporting easier. This bug has existed in the past (bug 205757, duplicate of bug 60513, marked as fixed), but it has reappeared in Minefield (Firefox 3.x does not have this problem).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the "About Minefield" dialog.
2. Click and drag over text.
Actual Results:
Nothing happens.

Expected Results:
Text should be selected.

Same problem with other dialogs, such as the View Certificate one.
Confirmed STR with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0b9pre) Gecko/20110101 Firefox/4.0b9pre ID:20110101030401

However I believe for that instance (Minefield about box), the advised method of getting build ID is now going to about:support and copying the full useragent value there. Alternatively, you can use the nightly tester tools addon (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6543/) and add a button to the Firefox toolbar, that when clicked, inserts current build into the active textbox automatically.

Could you give a full list of the places you can find that don't allow text selection that you feel should - and also indicate whether each one works in 3.6.13 or not, so it's clear what is a regression vs feature request - and then perhaps each separate item can be branched out and made dependencies of this bug.

Thanks!

The text in "About Minefield" has never been selectable, unless you're referring to the UA string field specifically (which was removed when we redesigned the about dialog). Bug 60513 is different yet again (only applies to those actual prompts, not all XUL dialogs in general), and *was* regressed on trunk recently, but also fixed: bug 613742.

I think this bug is INVALID.
Yes, it was the UA string that was selectable. But as there was no UA string, I tried to select the version string (I thought this is what replaced the UA), and I couldn't.

Concerning the certificates, I've now found that the values in Details are selectable, but not in General. However getting basic information is easier in General.

So, perhaps not a regression, but I think it would be a useful enhancement, without drawbacks: someone who doesn't want to select text just has to do nothing about it.
Ok so user agent -> Invalid (use about:support or nightly tester tools)
Certificates on general -> Is this different behaviour from 3.6.x or has it always been like this?

Are there any others?
