I copy text from somewhere, click "Write" in Thunderbird, then right-click and Paste in message body area. The pasted text goes to the "To" field instead of into the message body. I.E. The right-click does not work.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Copy text from somewhere.
2.Open new message.
3.Right click and paste in message body area.
4. Pasted data goes to the "To" field.
Actual Results:  
Pasted data in "To' field. 

Expected Results:  
Pasted data in the message body.

This works for me with Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; rv:2.0b9pre) Gecko/20110108 Thunderbird/3.3a2pre.

Can you try in -safe-mode (http://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode) ?

Thanks for your reply Ludovic. As you requested, I opened Thunderbird 3.0 Beta4 in safe mode and verified. I then copied data from somewhere, clicked the "Write" icon in the Mail Toolbar, right-clicked in the body of the new e-mail and clicked paste. The pasted data went into the "To" field. I notice when I right-click in the body, the curser does not appear where I click but stays in the "To" field. If I left-click in the body, the curser shows there and then I can right-click and paste and it works as it should. I'm not sure this is a bug, but I think it works differently than earlier versions.

Zeke any reasons you still run 3.0beta4 and not 3.1.7 ?
Adding a more regular windows user, as this might be platform specific.

Zeke, you don't want to be making a bug report with 3.0b4 which is over 1yr old. see "preliminaries.1" of https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/page.cgi?id=bug-writing.html about "recent build". (and the rest of the document is worth skimming)

iirc the paste issue you cite had been a problem in the past. I'm relatively certain it is not now. I suggest closing this invalid or worksforme if it works correctly in a current release or trunk build, started in safe mode.

I'm using 3.1.7. Sorry, I stated the wrong version but have been using 3.1.7 and this possible problem occurs in 3.1.7.
