Put some unread messages in your trash.  You will see that there are x number of
unread messages in your trash.  That is fine.  Go to file, Empty Trash.  The x
number of unread messages will still be there.  If you also put your cursor over
the folder, it will say x/x messages.  If you click on the folder, the numbers
will become 0.  Thanks!
