Details

From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/4.5 [en] (WinNT; I) BuildID: Mozilla/5.0 20001108 Netscape6/6.0 When you select an POP Mail Account Inbox and click on GetMsg ,and in the password Dialog box when a wrong password is entered,an error message is displayed saying error was occured while sending message to the mail server, when the error is acknowldge it does not allow us to re-enter a new password and does not allow us to download messages from the server, but in case of an IMAP mail account a entering a wrong password in the password dialog box gives a error and acknowledgement of the same allows the user to re-enter another password. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Bring up the Browser mail window. 2.Select an POP Mail Account. 3.Click on Get Msg on the tool bar, 4.Enter a Wrong Password. Actual Results: Gives an Errror saying "Error occured while sending password to the mail server.try again later or contact the mail administrator" and acknowledging the same does not give the the password dialog box again asking for re-entering another password. Expected Results: Should give a password dailog box saying "an error had occured .Re-enter a password again" and should be able to re-enter a passwordd till the correct password is entered.

You are using old build 2000-11-11-08 build. Use the latest build and try again. Thanks.
Reporter any luck reproducing the problem?
works4me. Using build 2001-01-08-08 on win98, I don't see the above problem. Three attempts of entering wrong password, password dlg appeared all three times to allow me to re-enter the right password. samrutha, Are you still seeing this in the recent builds?
I have tried this with the buil id :2001010204 on windows NT and this occured again for the POP account I used. The first time I open the mail account,by going to the mail window and then click on the inbox and say Get Msg and in the Password dialog box i enter the wrong password,it gave me an alert and din't ask me for the right password once again.

I'm using the same build right now that the reporter originally used and I also don't see a problem with cancelling a pop dialog. I get prompted for my password again.

Reporter, Are you still seeing this problem in nightly builds.
navin, bug 71670 is the same bug as this but you have already marked it as fixed. You should dup this bug as a dup of 71670 as it is fixed. Even though this bug was opened first.
