User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:2.0b10pre) Gecko/20110118 Firefox/4.0b10pre Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:2.0b10pre) Gecko/20110118 Firefox/4.0b10pre After starting firefox, if the first thing I do is start typing in the search box (defaulted to google) I get a proxy prompt. That is fine, but as I keep typing the proxy prompt keeps coming back over and over again. I tried searching for a duplicate bug and haven't been able to find one, although I'm sure someone has noticed this before... Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Configure firefox to use a proxy 2. Start firefox 3. Start typing in the search box (the firefox toolbar one) 4. A proxy prompt will come up. Enter your details and click ok. 5. Continue typing in the search box 6. You will get another proxy prompt, repeat steps 5-6 ad nauseum Actual Results: Repeated proxy prompts when you should only get one. Expected Results: A single proxy prompt should happen. Its pretty annoying :)

Is this really a duplicate? The other bug is just about how the proxy prompt comes up as you type, there is no mention of multiple prompts, which happen each time you type an extra character.
