Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-GB; rv:1.9.2.13) Gecko/20101207 Thunderbird/3.1.7
From the toolbar, select 'Tools' then 'Message FIlters'. I can see my message filters and scroll through the list. When i highlight one and then select the 'Edit' button on the right hand side the Message Filter window freezes up. I have to kill Mozilla and also the process behind the Message filter window to clean up.
The problem may not be the actual editing of message filters, but something more common to message filters as I seem to be getting email in my mail folder which would normally get filtered.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.From the toolbar, select 'Tools' then 'Message Filters'
2.Highlught a message filter
3.Select 'Edit' button
Actual Results:
The message filter window freezes and does not come back to life.
Expected Results:
A window should be presented where i can edit the message filter
The problem may not be the actual editing of message filters, but something more common to message filters as I seem to be getting email in my mail folder which would normally get filtered.
I have quite a lot of filters but have not had previous issues with filters. Most of them are simple and comprise of testing which domian the email is froma and then filing away in the specified folder.

how many filters?
were you using version 3.1.6 or 3.0.x prior to using version 3.1.7?
does your issue sound like Bug 444793? Edit Message Filter window slow, bad performance for large multi-criteria filters, slow loading and scrolling

i have 93 filters, all basic and i have been using previous versions and updating as new ones became avaialble.
i dont think its the same issue as 444793 as the message filter window is quick to display and is responsive, its just once 'Edit' is pressed the problem starts. The process controlling the message filter window does not seem to be doing any work as its cpu usage is 0.
one useful feature maybe to be able to sort filters based upon name or creation/last edit date as its a pain to find the right filter when you have close to 100.

i have checked again this morning and the filters do seem to be working so maybe its just the editing or the message filters file thats gotmessed up.
