9/28 RTM Candidate - NT

From Messenger, highlight an IMAP server and go to the menu File|Subscribe.
A dialog called "Commnicator: Subscrive to IMAP folders" comes up with 3 tabs -
All, Search and New.

the first tab works - but it looks like Search and New were taken from the code
to subscribe to newsgroups and never made to work for IMAP folders

Search tab - The field labeled 'Folder:' is always grayed out - so you can't
enter the folder name that you're searching for. Note that if you select an
news server instead it works.

New tab - doesn't work either. All the buttons (including Refresh List) on the
page are grayed out. The text above the folder list also refers to Newsgroups
intead of IMAP folders.

UI problem - either later or dup. We never had any intention of supporting
search, and the new tab should have been removed when we have an imap server
selected.
This is invalid. Note that while a news server is selected, the dialog title
changes to Subscribe to Newsgroups. We enable the panes, so that you can switch
to a news server from within them, without having to select a the right server
type first. I think it is better to disable and enable the buttons when
choosing different server types, rather than hide and show them. Besides, it
would be really strange to select an IMAP server in one of these panes, and
have the pane disappear.
Changed summary and priority to reflect RFE for better UI.

I see your point about not wanting the panes to disappear if you share the same
dialog for news and imap. And I also see how 'New' might not be too interesting
for IMAP shared folders. However, the reason I was surprised about Search was
because I was actually trying to find an IMAP folder. So the request is:

 - make search work for IMAP folders -or-
 - don't share the subscribe dialog between News and IMAP servers. That way you
don't have the problem of the 2 panes (seach, new) showing up when they're not
useable. You only lose being able to switch from within the dialog from a news
server to an imap server - and imho that doesn't seem to be used much
resolving as later

Seth is doing the subscribe dialog for 5.0 so I'll move over and assign to Seth

This seems like a dup of 17795 since Seth is doing the front-end and the
back-end of the subscribe dialog. And since the dialog is much simpler than the
4.x version (no more tabs) it seems like we'll have a solution for Gena's
original problem of wanting the dialog to be more similar between NNTP and IMAP.

Yes. The dialog is much simpler than the 4.x version (no more tabs).
After we have new design for 5.0, I will pay attention for the "search"
especially for "IMAP folders" which this bug described for.....
