Something's wrong with deb packaging.

Do we need a dictionaries/ro.aff and ro.dic ?
Comment 4•15 years ago
|
||
I thought that we don't want to ship dictionaries even for en-US.
I'm missing the removed en-US.manifest.
Comment 5•15 years ago
|
||
I think we remove the dictionaries during packaging:
http://mxr.mozilla.org/mobile-browser/source/locales/Makefile.in#105
Comment 6•15 years ago
|
||
I'm not sure how to proceed here.
Does someone else know what's going on and what needs to be fixed?
Comment 7•15 years ago
|

The diff you pasted says that en-US.manifest is still in there, but the jar is not. Somewhere there would be my suspect #1.

[09:30] <Pike> aki: can you look in the chrome.manifest of omni.jar if it references en-US? also, what's in mobile-l10n.js, the prefs file? and does ro.manifest reference stuff that exists?
Spot on.
chrome.manifest is only a manifest-of-manifests, but it references localized.manifest, which is all en-US:
deathduck:~/wrk/n900-l10n [09:37:03]
$ more ro_deb/opt/mozilla/fennec-4.0b5pre/chrome/localized.manifest
# en-US.manifest
locale global-region en-US jar:en-US.jar!/locale/en-US/global-region/
locale global-platform en-US jar:en-US.jar!/locale/en-US/global-platform/
override chrome://global/locale/netError.dtd chrome://browser/locale/netError.dtd
locale autoconfig en-US jar:en-US.jar!/locale/en-US/autoconfig/
<snip many more lines of en-US>
And the prefs file is in the wrong directory:
deathduck:~/wrk/n900-l10n [09:38:26]
$ find ro_deb -name mobile\*.js
ro_deb/opt/mozilla/fennec-4.0b5pre/defaults/pref/mobile-l10n.js
ro_deb/opt/mozilla/fennec-4.0b5pre/defaults/pref/mobile.js
ro_deb/opt/mozilla/fennec-4.0b5pre/defaults/preferences/mobile-l10n.js
deathduck:~/wrk/n900-l10n [09:38:31]
$ cat ro_deb/opt/mozilla/fennec-4.0b5pre/defaults/pref/mobile-l10n.js
//@line 36 "/home/cltbld/build/mobile-trunk-maemo5-gtk-nightly/mozilla-central/mobile/locales/en-US/mobile-l10n.js"
//@line 38 "/home/cltbld/build/mobile-trunk-maemo5-gtk-nightly/mozilla-central/mobile/locales/en-US/mobile-l10n.js"
pref("general.useragent.locale", "en-US");
deathduck:~/wrk/n900-l10n [09:38:44]
$ cat ro_deb/opt/mozilla/fennec-4.0b5pre/defaults/preferences/mobile-l10n.js
//@line 36 "/home/cltbld/build/mobile-trunk-maemo5-gtk-l10n/l10n-central/ro/mobile/mobile-l10n.js"
//@line 38 "/home/cltbld/build/mobile-trunk-maemo5-gtk-l10n/l10n-central/ro/mobile/mobile-l10n.js"
pref("general.useragent.locale", "ro");

Untested. May fix this entire bug; not sure, I'd have to repack a deb with the mobile-l10n.js file in the right directory.
Comment 10•15 years ago
|
||
Copying the mobile-l10n.js into defaults/pref didn't fix it.
We probably need to update localized.manifest to be non-en-US as well.

Maemo is now tier 3, and we stopped running both Maemo builds and single locale repacks quite a while ago.
I recommend closing this bug.
