User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; pt-BR; rv:1.9.2.15pre) Gecko/20110212 Ubuntu/10.10 (maverick) Namoroka/3.6.15pre Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; pt-BR; rv:1.9.2.15pre) Gecko/20110212 Ubuntu/10.10 (maverick) Namoroka/3.6.15pre Five features trying to solve this problem... biggest complaint about Facebook is privacy... even the government had to take an action in favor of opt-out headers... (it's major paragraph) 1. Clear Recent History doesn't work, because you have to have to delete from now until a time that includes public sites. 2. Start Private Browsing doesn't work, because sometimes you visit a site, then AFTER that, you learn that it shouldn't be in your history. 3, History View doesn't work, because it doesn't implicitly delete site preferences, cookies etc. 4. Forget All About This Site doesn't show up when you select more than one site. So you delete things that you shouldn't, delete things that you should, keep things that you should and keep things that you shouldn't! (it's broken paragraph) I'm thinking about something like: I select two history items that were saved in two dates, then you automatically select all history items saved between those two dates for me, then tou clear the date range including site preferences, cookies etc. Reproducible: Always
tou, you, thou lol

There were plans to do this after Firefox 3.5. Alex?

Alex told me yes in the other bug, but I won't complain a third time.
*told me there were plans
We really need to update our history UI, and as part of that we want users to be able to delete a range of history, and for this to be effectively the same thing as the set of actions that occurs with the Clear Recent History window (clearing authenticated sessions for that range, etc.) So we want to support the use case, but probably with a different interface than the current clear recent history window, which is just based around now-[amount of time]
There is an add-on called Mass Forget which solved this problem.
The "clear recent history" dialog should also be updated graphically. I don't if there any plans about it in the Australis redesign.
