Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Preferences -> go to Sync section
2. Go to- > I'm not near my computer 
3. Enter your credentials
4. Press connect

Expected result:
- you should be synced to your account

Actual result:
- Sync error : Failed to connect to the server

Note: 
- no sync log due to bug :  https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=635699

ioana, please enable sync logging in about:config and attach your about:sync-log file to the bug.

Tony, as I mentioned in the description of the bug I was not able to do that due to another bug.

Can you try again?   bug 635699 is marked resolved, so you can verify that one first.

okay please reopen if you see this again with a sync log.  unfortunately sync bugs can only be properly addressed if there's log data or reproducible steps.
