Thanks Grace. Could you please add more direction to this bug please? Is there a screenshot you can share with us of the videos page? and what is the length / max character limits for the descriptions.
Also, a deadline would help, too. But Slater perhaps you can help with that. I know that we wanted to lock down the site by end of week. So, not sure how quickly we can crank these out. And, if you or Matej (or someone else) would be best to provide the copy here.
Matej, can you help us out with this? It basically involves writing one sentence descriptions for a bunch of videos we'll be posting on the site.

Grace, any info per comment #1 and #2 would be very helpful before we start.

Also, what's the difference between the UI Overview and New UI videos?
Can do. Just need a little more context (and seeing the videos would probably help, too).

Is Friday the deadline? That might be a little tight on my end.
I was also going to suggest that we post the links to the videos for context / inspiration, but wasn't sure if that would be too much or not.

Grace, can you please follow up with the additional direction? considering that it's Thursday, not sure if Matej can crank this out in time unless we give him everything asap :)
hi matej. here is the current videos page: http://nova.stage.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/video/ and sample of the current the descriptions.

I've provided a little bit more info about each video and also included a link to a really rough draft of the videos just to give you an idea.

John, can probably give you more info on the deadline. but since the video are not ready yet, i'm assuming early next week should be fine? John can you please confirm?

Matej, I just posted a slightly cleaned up list of the videos we'll need descriptions for at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=627929#c16 (and copied you on that bug too). Would it help to have a quick call tomorrow to walk you through the content of the ones that haven't been created yet? If so, I'd volunteer Grace for that, as she's managing this project.

Also, this is a more accurate link of what the page will look like:
http://www-fx4.stage.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/video/

You should be able to get a pretty good idea of the format and approximate length from that...we're basically talking a short title and one brief sentence for each. Grace can probably help on the titles, since of course we'll want to make sure whatever we put on the page matches what's used in the videos themselves.

Lastly, how does Monday sound for the copy deadline?

Thanks!

A call would be great. I'd be available between around 1 and 3 your time. Is there a time in there that works?

> Lastly, how does Monday sound for the copy deadline?

Monday should be fine, but it would really help me out if I could use some of Monday to work on this. That would mean you guys would have it at around 2pm PST. But if it would be better to have it first thing, I can make that work.

Grace, I think this call should be you & Matej. Do you have any free time in that window?

2 pm works for me, thanks.
Here are the titles and descriptions based on the list Slater created in bug 627929. Please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks Matej. This is a great start. Generally speaking, though, we should try to cut down the length a bit more - both in the headline (which could just be the video title to keep it simple) and the description (none should be longer than the mobile beta video on http://www-fx4.stage.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/video/).

(In reply to comment #11)

> [desktop section]
> * Fx4 Features (new)
> HEADLINE: Awesome is in the features

Might just want to call this one Firefox 4 Features. Also, I'd focus the body copy less on the brand aspects (better place, etc) and more on the fast/fresh/fun messaging of the release itself (more like the bullet points on the new homepage, for example).

> * What's New in Fx4 (new)
> HEADLINE: What’s new in Firefox 4
> BODY: Johnathan Nightingale has the answer and we think you’re going to like
> what you see.

Shorter body? Also, we should discuss headline capitalization (a truly scintillating topic) offline.

> * UI Overview (new)
> HEADLINE: Are you user experienced?
> BODY: The user experience team takes you on a tour of the new user interface
> features in Firefox 4.

Normally I'd +1 any Jimi Hendrix reference but we should be more direct here. Also, let's shorten the body to something like "Take a tour of Firefox 4's new user interface".

> * UI Tutorial (new)
> HEADLINE: Learn the UI ropes
> BODY: Go deeper into the new user interface features with a full step-by-step
> tutorial.

Question: will average folks know what UI is? Possibly not.

> * Cutting Edge (new)
> HEADLINE: Browse the future
> BODY: Firefox 4 has the latest technologies designed to give you the greatest
> online experience.

Like the headline...maybe the body could be a bit more action oriented?

> * Sync (new)
> HEADLINE: Take Firefox to go
> BODY: See how Sync lets you stay on the same page, even when you’re on the go.

Probably should reference Sync in the headline.

> * Personas (existing)
> HEADLINE: Your browser, your way
> BODY: Find out how you can make your Firefox your own with Personas.
>
>
> [mobile section]
> * What's New in Fx4, mobile version (new)
> HEADLINE: What’s new in Firefox 4 Mobile
> BODY: Thomas Arend shows you how you can use Firefox 4 anywhere with our latest
> version of Mobile.

Could probably shorten the body by dropping the reference to Thomas (no offense to him of course!).

> * Mobile Launch (new)
> HEADLINE: Out there, in depth
> BODY: Get to know the new Firefox 4 Mobile a little better. It’s new. And
> mobile. And, of course, awesome.

More direct headline, shorter body (the first sentence alone works pretty well).

> * Mobile Add-ons (new)
> HEADLINE: Add-on benefits
> BODY: Just when you thought Mobile couldn’t get any better, add-ons add a whole
> other dimension.

Headline should say something about Mobile Add-ons.

> [community section]
> * Brand Manifesto (existing, but will have a more refined version ready next
> Tuesday)
> HEADLINE: We are Mozilla Firefox
> BODY: What’s Mozilla all about? Why are we doing this? What makes us so
> awesome? We’re glad you asked.

I can give you the backstory on this offline, but we decided today to name this one "A Different Kind of Browser". Would probably drop the line about us being awesome, but otherwise the body is good.

> * Join Army of Awesome (existing)
> HEADLINE: Join the Army of Awesome
> BODY: Find out how you can enlist to help out our Twitter community.

Yes!

> * Firefox Live: Meet the Cubs (existing)
> HEADLINE: Warning: contains cuteness
> BODY: Watch the adorable firefox cubs in action at the Knoxville Zoo.

Good...or we could just go with Meet the Cubs (but I'm not too particular about this one).
I really simplified and stripped everything back based on the above feedback. Have a look:

Hey Matej. These look great to me, thanks for the edits. The only one that stands out to me as possibly needing further tweaks is the mobile version of What's New...saying "our latest version of Mobile" is a little off. Might be as simple as "our latest mobile release" or "or our version for Android" or something like that.

Grace, what do you think?

I like your first option:

* What's New in Fx4, mobile version (new)
HEADLINE: What’s New in Firefox 4 Mobile
BODY: Take Firefox 4 anywhere with our latest mobile release.
Works for me, thanks Matej. Will you please post a clean version of all your edits over at bug 627929 (as soon as possible, as code freeze is tomorrow)?

Hi. Sorry for re-opening this bug. We have a few more videos that needs copy.

In addition, if we can re-write the one for mobile launch. this video is a bit more fun. So if we can have a more fun/whimsical title and description?
* Mobile Launch (new)

thanks. Let me know if you have any additional questions. Would it be possible to get a new copy by eod tomorrow?

Thanks!

Hey Matej, I know you've got a lot of stuff on your plate right now. Is this something you can whip up quickly by eod tomorrow? Let me know if that's an issue given other things you've got for Launch.

Should be fine, but I'll let you know if there are any issues over the course of the day.
Here's the copy for these. I'm not completely sure if both of the Firefox Home videos are going to be used, as they seem like variations of the same thing (right down to the line at the end), but I created a slightly different version for each.

I'm also a little confused about the Android Invite video as it seems to be urging people to try the beta, but we're heading into RC on mobile imminently. It also shows some old mobile UI and refers to the "Awesome Bar," which should actually be "Awesome Screen." I've created copy for that, too, but I want to make sure it's the correct video.

Let me know if any of this needs tweaking:

* Firefox Home 1 Video
HEADLINE: Firefox Home in Action
BODY: Now your browser is always with you, whether at work or on the go.

* Firefox Home 2 Video
HEADLINE: Firefox Home Demo
BODY: Exactly what you need on the Web, ready and waiting for you.

* Firefox Android Invite
HEADLINE: You’re Invited!
BODY: Take Firefox 4 for mobile for a test drive with our beta.

* Mobile Launch (new)
HEADLINE: Get Up and Go
BODY: And take the awesomeness of Firefox 4 with you.

HEADLINE: Firefox 4 for Mobile is Here!
BODY: In fact, it’s anywhere you are. That’s what makes it so awesome.

HEADLINE: Your Web, Anywhere
BODY: Firefox 4 for mobile puts Firefox where you need it: wherever you are.
Sorry, meant to also mention that I created a few versions to choose from for the Mobile Launch video, in case you're wondering why there are three.
hi matej! this is awesome! thank you sooo much! i think we are all set for now ;) happy weekend.
Grace, could you copy the appropriate ones over to bug 627929 then?

As for the mobile launch one, I'd vote for the third choice.

Thanks Matej!
thanks matej. i also updated bug 642593 where we update the video page with the mobile launch video.

thanks again!
