Build Identifier: 3.1.8

after i changed my mail password, thunderbird asked for new one, i introduced it, saved it.
but every day at first launch it asks me again the password, (i always save it)

the only workaround is to delete account and recreate it again.

i am experiencing this situation more than 6 month on last release versions 3.0 ? -3.1.8

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. create account to any box
2. save pwd
3. see that it works ok (a few times when you run/shutdown thunderbird)
4. change pwd, save it
5. send new mail from other accounts
5. run a few times thunderbird and try to access new mail (every time send, access)
Actual Results:
the box with password save wizard appears every time.

Expected Results:
the password to be saved.

so deletding the sig* files in your profile do no help ?
This really is very annoying and it still exists in the current version 9.0.1.

When you need to enter a new password, because your mailbox password was changed from the server side it happens very often that the new password won't be stored and the old password still remains.

Maybe it's only an issue with Mail-Accounts you used from Version 2.x on, but I still have this kind of Problem in 9.0.1.
Martin,
do you see this for more than one ISP / account?
does renaming, moving the sign* files help (as ludo suggested in comment 2)?
