Whereas the alert() box is not modal anymore, the "authentification required" box is still modal. Is it a choice or a forgetting?

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to a page that require authentification (for example : ftp://ftpperso.free.fr/)

The box is modal

Expected Results:  
The box is not modal anymore (I would say)
