User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.2.15) Gecko/20110303 Ubuntu/8.04 (hardy) Firefox/3.6.15 Build Identifier: 3.1.9 if i send a mail to a user which uses outlook express version "6.00.2900.5931" and he answers, thunderbird will show me only my email and not his answer! the problem seems to be the conditional html code wich outlook generates. it starts with <!..[if gte mso 9]>... if i turn to view in plain text then sometimes the answer text gets viewed, but only sometimes. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. send html email to outlook express user 2. get an answer from outlook user 3. Actual Results: the answer text does not get viewed by thunderbird Expected Results: answer text should get viewed in any kind html or plaintext here is an example: ------=_NextPart_001_022D_01CBDFF1.7393CE90 Content-Type: text/html; charset="ISO-8859-15" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META http-equiv=3Dcontent-type content=3D"text/html; = charset=3DISO-8859-15"> <META content=3D"MSHTML 6.00.6000.17095" name=3DGENERATOR></HEAD> <BODY text=3D#000000 bgColor=3D#ffffff><!--[if !mso]> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>Hallo</FONT></DIV> <![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <o:OfficeDocumentSettings> <o:RelyOnVML/> <o:AllowPNG/> </o:OfficeDocumentSettings> </xml><![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:WordDocument> <w:View>Normal</w:View> <w:Zoom>0</w:Zoom> <w:TrackMoves>false</w:TrackMoves> <w:TrackFormatting/> <w:HyphenationZone>21</w:HyphenationZone> <w:PunctuationKerning/> <w:ValidateAgainstSchemas/> <w:SaveIfXMLInvalid>false</w:SaveIfXMLInvalid> <w:IgnoreMixedContent>false</w:IgnoreMixedContent> <w:AlwaysShowPlaceholderText>false</w:AlwaysShowPlaceholderText> <w:DoNotPromoteQF/> <w:LidThemeOther>DE</w:LidThemeOther> <w:LidThemeAsian>X-NONE</w:LidThemeAsian> <w:LidThemeComplexScript>X-NONE</w:LidThemeComplexScript> <w:Compatibility> <w:BreakWrappedTables/> <w:SnapToGridInCell/> <w:WrapTextWithPunct/> <w:UseAsianBreakRules/> <w:DontGrowAutofit/> <w:SplitPgBreakAndParaMark/> <w:DontVertAlignCellWithSp/> <w:DontBreakConstrainedForcedTables/> <w:DontVertAlignInTxbx/> <w:Word11KerningPairs/> <w:CachedColBalance/> </w:Compatibility> <m:mathPr> <m:mathFont m:val=3D"Cambria Math"/> <m:brkBin m:val=3D"before"/> <m:brkBinSub m:val=3D"--"/> <m:smallFrac m:val=3D"off"/> <m:dispDef/> <m:lMargin m:val=3D"0"/> <m:rMargin m:val=3D"0"/> <m:defJc m:val=3D"centerGroup"/> <m:wrapIndent m:val=3D"1440"/> <m:intLim m:val=3D"subSup"/> <m:naryLim m:val=3D"undOvr"/> </m:mathPr></w:WordDocument> </xml><![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:LatentStyles DefLockedState=3D"false" DefUnhideWhenUsed=3D"true" DefSemiHidden=3D"true" DefQFormat=3D"false" DefPriority=3D"99" LatentStyleCount=3D"267"> </w:LatentStyles> </xml><![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 10]> <![endif]--> <DIV align=3Dcenter><FONT=20 color=3D#000099><BIG><BIG>Hello,</BIG></BIG></FONT><BR><FONT=20 color=3D#000099><BIG><BIG>we can offer our free=20 loads:</BIG></BIG></FONT><BR><FONT=20 color=3D#000099><BIG><BIG></BIG></BIG></FONT><BR><FONT=20 color=3D#000099><BIG><BIG></BIG></BIG></FONT></DIV> <P class=3DMsoNormal><SPAN lang=3DEN-US></SPAN> </P> <P class=3DMsoNormal><SPAN lang=3DEN-US></SPAN> </P> <P class=3DMsoNormal><SPAN = lang=3DEN-US></SPAN> </P></BLOCKQUOTE></BODY></HTML> ------=_NextPart_001_022D_01CBDFF1.7393CE90--

Thanks for attaching the message. A few points to mention here: 1) This message was created in 2011 by MS Outlook Express. MS OE died with Windows XP. 2) The internal MIME structure of the message is incorrect. It has: Content-Type: multipart/related; type="multipart/alternative"; boundary="----=_NextPart_001_022D_01CBDFF1.7393CE90" Yet, there is only one part. When I view the message with TB 49 (2016-05-17) I see: Hello, we can offer our free loads: which is the net text content of the message. This bug can be closed since a) as far as I can see, it works b) even if it didn't, we won't try to display an incorrect message.
