From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win 9x 4.90; en-US; m18) Gecko/20010102
BuildID: 2001010204
If you type linux in URL bar, Mozilla resolve this as www.linux.org. However,
if you type gohip, Mozilla launch a search instead of resoving www.gohip.com
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
clear history and type in URL bar gohip (no http://www. or .com)
Actual Results: A search is launched for gohip
Expected Results: Mozilla load www.gohip.com
should be dupe of mostfreq. reporter please resolve this as a dupe yourself,
it's good practice.
I'm pretty sure the resolution was wontfix [don't reopen it]
Keywords: qawanted
Whiteboard: DUPEME
I guess it's a mostfreq but I wonder why it's a wontfix, this feature should
work for every site. Do you have a dup # for more info? Let's wait for QA...
Summary: Mizilla doesn't resolve gohip as www.gohip.com → Mozilla doesn't resolve gohip as www.gohip.com

The very fact that it would only work for URLs which happened to end in .com,
and happened to have servers called `www', would make it not work for every
site.
www.linux.org was probably found as a result of the `Internet Keywords'
feature, not as a result of domain name guessing.
