Ctrl+Drag to duplicate does not work for orphaned tabs
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0 open the tab grouping. double click into free space to create new tab group. you will get into an empty tab. try to copy it by pressing ctrl and moving it to the right in tab bar. it will not be possible to copy it like this; normally it can easily be copied. Reproducible: Always
So basically you're asking for Tab Duplication across Tab Groups using CTRL + Tab Drag.

Interesting idea, though I am not sure how often I want to exactly duplicate a tab.

Can reproduce. The tab in fact is duplicated, but hidden somewhere and appears in a quite unpredictable place. So it's currently not possible to duplicate orphan tabs using this method.
Summary: tab copy is not possible after using new tab grouping function → Ctrl+Drag to duplicate does not work for orphaned tabs
