Open http://mila-notes.mila-irl.lan/mail/klawlor.nsf/iNotes/Mail/?OpenDocument&ui=inotes_full 2. Click on Sent Items folder. 3. Click on Inbox. Actual Results: In Full Mode, no emails are listed, but in Lite Mode all emails are listed. Also, the error does not appear when switch between folders in Lite Mode, but it does appear when entering a To: field email address on looking up the email. Expected Results: I would have expected all emails to be lists, and an error with the Lotus iNotes Console NOT appear.
Changing platform to x86; since WOW64 in user agent indicates 32bit build of Firefox (platform refers to browser build, not OS). Could you see if the issue occurs if using Firefox in safe mode: http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode How about with a new, empty testing profile? (Don't install any addons into it) http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Basic+Troubleshooting#w_8-make-a-new-profile
Hardware: x86_64 → x86
Version: unspecified → Trunk
(In reply to comment #1) > Changing platform to x86; since WOW64 in user agent indicates 32bit build of > Firefox (platform refers to browser build, not OS). Fine, and thank you. > Could you see if the issue occurs if using Firefox in safe mode: > http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode In Safe Mode, the error does not appear at all in either Full or Lite Mode, even with the Autocomplete lookup of the email address. However, during Safe Mode operation, in Full Mode, no emails are listed; it is almost like no emails exist at all. Highly disconcerting! In Lite Mode, they are all listed. There is no opportunity to see the iNotes Console, as before. > How about with a new, empty testing profile? (Don't install any addons into it) > http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Basic+Troubleshooting#w_8-make-a-new-profile I will reply to this momentarily. Thanks for your assistance in this matter.
(In reply to comment #1) > How about with a new, empty testing profile? (Don't install any addons into it) > http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Basic+Troubleshooting#w_8-make-a-new-profile Same symptoms as originally reported - iNotes Console shows exactly the same errors. I have also ensured that in Normal Mode, all plugins and addons have been disabled.
Just found a dupe, bug 633113.

From email: > Hi Ed, > > I saw this as well, but it was for FF4b12, and hinted at Linux. > Thought it would have been better to have it as a separate case > for the final FF4 build. > > Thanks for adding me to the CC list as well to the original case. > > Do you see this being resolved soon, or could this issue hang > around for a while? Hi Stephen, pasting the direct email here, since replying to bugzilla notifications doesn't post the message into the bug - and direct emails make it harder for others to follow the conversation. I duped since the exceptions were the same (and one confirmed bug is more likely to get acted upon then two separate unconfirmed ones), however if it turns out the issue is different, then it can always be unduped. I don't work for Mozilla, am just helping with triage, so not entirely sure what is causing this issue and thus timeframes. My hunch is that iNotes is still using XUL, for which support was removed by default in Firefox 4. *If* this is the case, then: a) The more friendly error message that should be shown (by Firefox) rather than the exception above, clearly isn't working. This is something that ideally needs to be fixed in Firefox to help prevent user confusion. b) Lotus need to create a support document for their users, explaining how to whitelist sites for XUL use, until they finally remove the need for XUL from iNotes / provide an update to users. This is something only IBM/Lotus can do and you would need to chase them up via their own support channels. eg: reply here saying "me too": http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/nd85forum.nsf/5f27803bba85d8e285256bf10054620d/3e399598203571ff8525785b005864ed?OpenDocument&Highlight=0,firefox,4 Hopefully my reply in bug 633113 comment 5 should get things moving on both the Firefox and IBM/Lotus sides.
Thanks Ed and job well done :) I am a member of the IBM support forums so I'll get onto that as well. Might be a little bit more explicit and paraphrase what you mentioned about XUL in Comment 5 of this thread. Aside from that - do you think I should experiment with this? https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/remote-xul-manager/ All I am doing is accessing the (i)Notes mailfile via the http:// of the FQDN (as I intend using a mobile broadband VPN). The actual domain name will never change.
I am using the Remote XUL Manager add-on now and it works fine for Full-Mode iNotes in FF4 final build. Thank goodness.
