In recent builds ( as late as Jan 4, 2001 ) the external applications list in
preferences is empty. I know that I've added things to it because it will
actually fire up acrobat reader properly for pdf files, etc.
Also see bug #64406. They might be related.

Hey, blizzard, what does your mimeTypes.rdf file look like (it's in your profile
direcrory)?

What I see is that ALL text fields and radio buttons are empty in the
preferences window (build 2001012509).
Attached file rdf file
I've attached my rdf file. It was in .mozilla/blizzard/en-US/mimeTypes.rdf
which I thought was a little odd. By the way, I don't have any problems at
home. I don't know what the difference is.
I am sure this is bug 50914. Pls read the description in bug 50914. (especially
racham@netscape.com 2000-10-11 16:30 ). Try using a new profile or copying a
new version of mimetypes.rdf(from defaults/profile folder) to your current
profile and this should work. Thanks!
Yeah, Shrirang is correct. This is the "old" format, which doesn't seem to be
liked by the helper apps prefs code. In fact, you might want to get a new
profile after the fix for bug 56226 gets into the tree. ;-)
Marking as dup of 50914.
