i have acrobat reader spawning as helper app, and for pdf-files downloaded via
web this works just fine. However: attempting to open a pdf file from local disk
will only render it in browser, displaying garbage of course.
Expected: acrobat reader to open the file instead.
Dont know whether this is a networking or mime bug.
well, i guess it depends. the easiest solution is for file: to return a
mimetype based on the os magic system.
however, i hope this is a dupe.

I just tested this again with a current CVS build, Linux:
pdf files loaded from local disk now prompts how i should open (or even save to
file). Acrobat reader is configured as helper now as before, and comes up as
default action. I've explicitly set prefs to prompt before opening.
So behaviour now seems to be the correct one.
Obviously got fixed along the road. Resolving as "works for me".

verified too, then. It still works just fine.
