Details

2001010517 linux adding application/winword for doc files, and /usr/bin/abword as helper app, doesnt work. (No other app work either for that matter.) Moz claims the filetype is unknown of type octet-stream - and i have to point browser to the app to use each time.
This is probably the web server's fault. if it returns application/octet-stream for file systems, this is a nightmare but it would be a dupe of bug 64584.
i get "unknown filetype..octet-stream" also when opening a doc-file from HD via filepicker. PDF files on the other hand, are suddenly opened in browser if i open from local file, but in acroread when from web. In both cases mimetype is set up correct, and the files i try to open have the proper extention. Shouldn't known mimetypes be consultet when a file is opened locally?
assuming that's all this is bug 64584. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 64584 ***
