Details

When a message source window is open the browser taskbutton may switch to it.

1. Close all windows except messenger
2. Select a message
3. View/Message Source
4. ALT+TAB back to messenger
5. Click browser taskbutton

Actual results: message source window activated

Expected results: new browser window created

I just ran into this bug.
Currently there are outstanding problems with the Browser's view source window
chrome://content/navigator/viewSource.xul otherwise I would suggest using that
to display the message source.
