65054 - No really useful choices for "Internet Search" option in Preferences

In Preferences->Navigator->Internet Search, there is no option for popular
search engines like Altavista etc. There was such an option in 0.6 build,
although it appeared only in one of the two systems I work with. Wouldn't it be
better to add a fully customizable option?

From the browser, enter menu Edit->Preferences->Navigator->Internet Search.

The search items are really "sherlock" plugins. For more information see
sherlock.mozdev.org (you can download a lot more there). The reason that
altavista isn't there is that they don't have a sherlock plugin (yet).
This should be invalided, I think, unless the reporter wants to bring up another
issue about this subject.

the reasons we removed altavista and others was accusations of bias and 
permissions.

Users will have to collect sherlock plugins from something other than 
mozilla.org

OK, this seems to be rather a "support" issue. It would be nice to have an 
option to install sherlock plugins directly from sherlock.mozdev.org. Or, at 
least, a simple text note in Preferences->Internet Search window that one needs 
to install such a plugin to have more search engine options. There's plenty of 
room in that window.

if you think this particular bug is *not* a duplicate, please provide a
compelling reason, as well as check a recent *trunk* build (on the appropriate
platform[s]), before reopening.
