User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.16) Gecko/20110319 Firefox/3.6.16 Build Identifier: since the dawn of time and still present in version 2.0.0.24 (20100228) This is another bug that has existed for years but no one seems interested in fixing since filing messages is so much fun that making the process less time consuming is of no interest. When I attempt to use this command path, I NEVER find the folder for the previous to the most recently filed message in this list. The list is so long that it probably contains more than 100 entries, with up and down scroll arrows, and contains folders in which I have not filed messages in months. But the one I used 2 minutes ago just prior to the most recently filed message is not there. The MOVE TO _____ AGAIN command *does* work properly Reproducible: Always Actual Results: See above. Expected Results: See above. none

But it won't be fixed in version 3.1. If you're hot to use it now, you must use a development build.

3.1? I'm using 2.0.0.24. I installed 3.x on another machine some time back and found it abysmally lacking in basic things I consider essential. IIRC correctly it was incapable of displaying the size of a folder, something that needs to be known to decide whether it might be worthwhile to compact it. There were other inadequacies but I forget now what they were. If I used that machine seriously for email I would have removed 3.x and installed a 2.x version in its place. If you don't intend to fix this problem in 2.x I probably should look for a different POP client entirely. I've migrated continuously from Netscape 4.x under Win3.1 on a 486 through various versions of Mozilla, Seamonkey and Thunderbird over 13 years but if 2.x is going to be abandoned and the deficiencies I found in 3.x are not going to be fixed so that it at least has all the features of 2.x equals 2.x this will be the end of the road for me after 13 years. I considi

You can install the extra folder columns add-on which adds this functionality for those who want it: https://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/Make+Thunderbird+3+Look+Like+Thunderbird+2#Display_message_count_or_folder_size_in_the_folder_view > If you don't intend to fix this problem in 2.x I > probably should look for a different POP client entirely. The 2.0.0.x series was obsoleted long ago and no longer receives security updates. > I've migrated continuously from Netscape 4.x under Win3.1 on a 486 through > various versions of Mozilla, Seamonkey and Thunderbird over 13 years but if 2.x > is going to be abandoned and the deficiencies I found in 3.x are not going to > be fixed so that it at least has all the features of 2.x equals 2.x this will > be the end of the road for me after 13 years. If you think there's further deficiencies, then I would suggest you check out our support site at https://support.mozillamessaging.com/ and if you still can't find what you're looking for, then ask on our help site at http://getsatisfaction.com/mozilla_messaging/ - 3.x can be customised in many ways and through that can do everything 2.x did and more.
I know how to add columns. That feature has existed for a long time. There was no way to add a co to the left pane where folders and their message counts and sizes were listed. If many of the messages contain attachments, folders can contain huge amounts of unused space as attachments or messages are deleted. If the folder size is not visible (as it definitely was not) the user can waste a lot of time trying to compact folders aren't even large in the first place.

The extension that Standard8 pointed you at allows you to add back the folder size column to the folder list.

There was > no way to add a co to the left pane where folders and their message counts and > sizes were listed. I wasn't telling you how to add columns to the message pane. I was telling you to install the add-on called Extra Folder Columns, that does what you want - it adds columns for message counts and sizes against the folders.
