User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1 When a url is typed in the location bar, and the URL shares the same first letter as the default home page set in the preferences, an "h" is automatically substituted in place of the first letter of the url. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. set the home page in preferences to: my.yahoo.com 2. restart firefox 3. open firefox (automatically goes to the my.yahoo.com page) 4. open a new tab, then in the location bar type "m" (as if going to type mozilla), the location bar then opens a help/completion window. The first line shows "switch to tab" (in gray), followed by "http://my.yahoo.com" with the first "h" of http clear and the rest (i.e. ttp://my.yahoo.com) selected 5. keep typing (i.e. after the first "m"): ozilla.com, the result in the location bar is hozilla.com ! the first "h" of "http" has replaced the first "m" for mozilla.com Thank you for the great work! Congratulation to the people behind it. Keep the good work. Actual Results: hozilla.com instead of mozilla.com (just an example, happens in every situation described above) Expected Results: what you type is what you get: WYTIWYG :)
I can't reproduce it on Build identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1. I can't reproduce it on Build identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:6.0a1) Gecko/20110501 Firefox/6.0a1. Reporter, can you try to reproduce it with a clean profile? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing%20profiles Or in SafeMode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe%20Mode
