Steps to reproduce: 1. Load Google Maps 2. Pan horizontally This causes the sidebars to appear. This is intentionally allowed, because the urlbar is visible (see bug 650339). However, it's not an ideal experience. To just pan the map, you need to hide the urlbar first, which is not obvious.
