I noticed when I type www.athlonmb.com to Mozilla, minimize this window and
maximize it back after some random time (couple seconds or several minutes),
Mozilla has all page items present but not background - magically Mozilla just
started reading it.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
Type http://www.athlonmb.com/ press Enter and minimize this window. Maximize it
back after long pause. You should see that background images are just started
reading.

The trick is to minimize window before Mozilla starts download these pictures. 
(shift+Reload bypasses local cache or even better is to disable proxy and hit 
reload.)
I tried this page with M0.7 (2001010901), and I experience this behaviour.
(If nothing else helps, set disk cache and memory cache to 0KB and make some 
traffic to stress network (ftp) so there is time for minimizing.)

As this page is in US and I read it in Estonia (13 hops to www.athlonmb.com and 
300ms ping delay, there is possibility than this behaviour does not reveal 
itself more close to this site.)

Additionally I found similar behaviour at http://www.viahardware.com/, but this
time these images (.gif) are dealt with Java, so I can not say as these are
background images this time.
If I am not terribly mistaken, bug 57607 has similar nature.

This is in fact DUP of bug 57607 AFAICT.
I agree, bug 57607 and this are the same problem, namely that images are not 
loaded when the app is in the background (or so it appears).
