Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Edit/Preferences/Applications 2. clickt at Content Type-field named "irc" or "ircs" Actual Results: A HTTPS connection to www.mibbit.com (port 443) is opened presumalby in order to fetch a site icon. Expected Results: Do not connect.
dist/bin/chrome/en-US/locale/browser-region/region.properties which goes into omni.jar contains the URL assignments.

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:7.0a1) Gecko/20110531 Firefox/7.0a1 I can also observe issue - not sure though that this represents a bug. On Windows the icon is present ever since the drop-down menu is displayed.
Issue persists in Firefox 28. May be hidden by setting browser.chrome.favicons to false.
bug 435687. bug 480826. This also applies to other applications, such as they are connected to: GET https://mail.google.com/favicon.ico GET https://add.my.yahoo.com/favicon.ico We have a policy for it? WONTFIX for it?
