-Need to update FAQs based on copy in bug 660290.
Blocks: 660301
OS: Mac OS X → All
Hardware: x86 → All
Bug is resolved--

here is what needs to be done:

Here are my edits to that, including adding from our beta FAQ.

- REMOVE: "4.0" from headline (and URL- will need a redirect?)

- REMOVE: "4" from why does ff look different answer
- REMOVE: "4" from Are my Firefox Add-ons compatible with Firefox? ALSO REMOVE:
- More than 75 percent of add-ons are already compatible with Firefox 4.
- Remove the overview question w/ff4 video.
- UPDATE: "How does Firefox improve stability?"
- UPDATE: "How does Firefox improve performance?" REMOVE: "up to six times faster than the previous release." from answer
- UPDATE: "How does Firefox protect my privacy and security?" REMOVE: two "4" references from answer
- UPDATE: where can i see some cool demos? LAURA TO PROVIDE UPDATE

"You can visit our Mozilla Developer Networks _Demo Studio_ website to see demos of the Web technologies enabled by Firefox in action. Developers can also use this site to contribute their own cool demos and experiments."

- UPDATE: "I'm using 3.X, how do I update to the latest version of Firefox?" REMOVE: "4" from answer

Firefox is available in more than 85 languages (same link).

- REMOVE: last question
- ADD: Q: Where can I learn more about the latest version of Firefox?"
A: Long, technical release notes
New link: https://www.mozilla.com/firefox/5.0/releasenotes/

Features page
Mozilla Hacks for developer details

- ADD: Q: "Where can I learn more about future versions of Firefox?" A:
(LAURA- add channels download page, future of ff blog, newsletter)
* Channels download page (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/channel/)
*Future of Firefox Blog (http://blog.mozilla.com/futurereleases/)
* Sign Up for the Channel Newsletter (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/channel/)

- ADD: Q: Why switch to a rapid release cycle for Firefox?
A: Rapid releases let us deliver new features, performance enhancements, security updates and stability improvements to users faster.
- ADD: Q: How does the rapid release cycle work? What is the rapid release timing?
A: We now have four Firefox channels: nightly, aurora, beta and release. Each stage of the development process lasts for six weeks.

Nightly - Test builds including unpolished features not tested by Mozilla QA
Aurora - Test the latest features and innovations with an increase in polish from the raw, cutting edge features in nightly builds
Firefox Beta - Broadly test the stability of new features and improvements in the next version of Firefox
Firefox Release - Delivers the polished and stable features in Firefox to hundreds of millions of users

- ADD: Q: Is rapid release happening for Firefox for desktop and mobile?

A: Yes!

Should this end up at /press/faq/fx/ as the URL, or just /press/faq/?

I think it should be /press/faq/fx/

Thanks!
The faq has been moved and updated in trunk in r90139.

Laura, please review and if it looks good, I'll merge to stage for QA.

There was one section I wasn't clear on:

"- ADD: Q: Where can I learn more about the latest version of Firefox?"
A: Long, technical release notes
New link: https://www.mozilla.com/firefox/5.0/releasenotes/

Features page
Mozilla Hacks for developer details"

Those last two lines, are they part of the answer above? Are they links? Thanks.

I think those last two are answers with links. So, what I'm imagining

": Where can I learn more about the latest version of Firefox?"
> A: -Long, technical release notes ://www.mozilla.com/firefox/5.0/releasenotes/
     -Features page (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/features/
-Mozilla Hacks for developer details" (https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/)

Are they links?
> Thanks.
Update those links in r90142. Thanks. Laura, let me know if everything else is ok and we'll push to stage for QA.
Thanks Steven--Mayumi needs to review--will ask her to do so now.
A few fixes:

Please remove three remaining "4" s in the copy.

- "Fastest Firefox Ever..."
Update answer to be "With improved start-up and page load times, speedy Web app performance and hardware accelerated graphics, Firefox is built for the rich, interactive websites of the future."

- "The Home moved to the right side of the search box. " should be "Home button"

- Delete "now" in "Awesome (URL) Bar now features one easy button to load, stop or reload pages, this is located on the right side of the Awesome Bar. "

- Delete "new" in "New Add-ons Manager makes it easy to discover and install more than 200,000 add-ons to customize the features, functionality and look of Firefox. "

- Delete "now" in "With HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) websites can now help stop "man in the middle" attacks and keep your sensitive data safe from interception during the log-in process by telling Firefox to automatically establish secure connections to their servers. "

- Add CSS Animations as a example in "Cutting Edge Tools for Web Developers"

- Delete this section since it's no longer relevant "Why does Firefox look different than it used to?"

- Change "Can I still customize the user interface?" to "Can I customize the user interface?"

- Update the messaging in the answer to "How does Firefox improve performance?"
Change copy to say "With improved start-up and page load times, speedy Web app performance and hardware accelerated graphics, Firefox is built for the rich, interactive websites of the future."

- Change "introduces" to "includes" in "Firefox introduces the following privacy and security improvements:"

- Delete "now" in With HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) websites can now help stop “man in the middle” attacks and keep your sensitive data safe from interception during the log-in process by telling Firefox to automatically establish secure connections to their servers.
- Update Answer to "Q: I use Firefox 3.X - how do I upgrade to the latest version of Firefox?

"You can download Firefox at http://www.firefox.com and enjoy the new features and faster performance. If you are using 4.X or older version of Firefox already, you can go to the Firefox menu, Help, About Mozilla, Check for Updates. On a Mac you can select About Firefox and Apply Updates."

- In "Is rapid release happening for Firefox for desktop and mobile?"
answer should be
"Yes! Firefox desktop users can try the Nightly, Aurora, Beta and Final release channels and mobile users can test the Nightly, Beta and Final channels.
Changes from comment #9 have been made in trunk in r90227. Please review.
