User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1 When using MaxOSX 10.6.7 using multiple displays (in my example three displays are used), the new window command only works if the focus window is in the primary display. If the focus window is in the secondary display then the new window command appears to work, but cannot be found. It will appear in the "Window" menu, but is not accessible. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Firefox 2. Move window to non-primary display 3. Click option + N or click File -> New Window 4. Poof, where did it go? Actual Results: The window is not there, nor can it be accessed by clicking on it in the Window menu. Expected Results: You should see the window. It works in the primary display, but not the others (In my case three displays, so I don't know if it is a dual display issue or a tri-display issue.
Version: unspecified → 4.0 Branch
Note: this issue is only a problem on the third display.
I have seen this in Firefox 4 and is still present in Firefox 5. It doesn't seem to be specific to the primary display (ie the display the menubar is in). I have a MacBook Pro and an external LCD. When the external monitor is set to be the primary, I see the issue described above. But, if I switch it to the built-in display, everything works as expected.
I have this problem in firefox 4, 5 and thunderbird 5. It happens with two displays if the active Window is on the secondary display.
The problem persists in FF/TB 6! BTW. The windows do show up in the "Window" Menu, but they cannot be selected, made visible or in any other way interacted with.
Bump. Still valid in ff/tb 6.0.1!
Finally! Fixed in 9.0!

Finally! Fixed in 9.0!

Agree. I don't see this when using Monterey
