wbamberg and I noticed that the SDK has a number of large-ish PNG images (mostly screenshots in the docs, the largest of which is 255kB). The 1.0 release has a total of 2.2MB of .png files, which makes up about about 45% of the uncompressed SDK (4.9MB), or about 67% of the gz compressed SDK (2.3MB).

It might be nice to find a way to shrink these, either with more compression, smaller color palettes, or fewer pixels. Some of the screenshots use random patterns in the background, and gradients, neither of which compresses very well.

We might be able to make the SDK smaller and easier to download this way.
