Another issue regarding the new Data Manager raised in the feedback following the 2.1 release in http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=2228567 is the increased amount of mouse clicks for specific actions, again noted for the task of deleting entries. Specifically the "Are you sure you want to delete the selected ..." appears redundant after having selected a category, then a domain, and then specific items in the presented list. Thus, either remove it or provide a "Don't ask me again" box to streamline future actions.
(cloning bugs is dangerous, this doesn't depend on bug 666098 of course...)
No longer depends on: 666098

WONTFIX for sure. This is identical to the behavior of the old managers.

Well, it wasn't there in the original implementation up to SM 1.1 and only got introduced with bug 476175 for SM 2.0, where re-reading that bug shows that the main reason was the Ctrl+A shortcut for "select all" (which in the Data Manager selects all cookies after selecting a domain but doesn't focus the list, thus the DEL key brings me into the "Forget" tab, which may be a bug on its own). Does the WONTFIX extend to the proposed "Don't ask me again" box on the dialog?
(In reply to comment #3) > Does the WONTFIX extend to the proposed "Don't ask me again" box on the > dialog? You should know that putting two things in one bug calls for confusion. Feel free to contribute a patch on its own bug. I rarely at all have time to work on code nowadays and this is so low on my priorities list that I don't even would be able to see it. I'd review a patch, though.
As can be seen from the bug description, I was proposing two alternative solutions to the same issue (either removing the dialog or providing a checkbox for disabling it in the future). Thus, not filing two separate bugs on the same issue was applicable given that it doesn't make much sense to distribute the discussion on a single topic across multiple alternative bugs. I've spun off bug 667459 for the checkbox and bug 667464 on the Ctrl+A focus.
