User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:5.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/5.0 Build ID: 20110615151330 Steps to reproduce: Launch Thunderbird 5.0 under Windows Vista. Maximize the window. Actual results: Menu bar and toolbar buttons are barely readable, as they are drawn in dark gray on black. (See attached screen shot.) Expected results: Menu bar and tool bar buttons should be readable and match the visual style of the other parts of the window.
Confirmed here. This is technically caused by Vista's choice to disable transparency for Aero on maximised windows, but is a real issue for most Vista users. The colour used will be that of the glass colour, but blended according to "colour intensity" with black. This is different to the behaviour in Windows 7.

Note that the situation with FF5 is slightly better, partly due to the less transparent menu bar background, partly because most buttons are not transparent at all.
