It was fixed by bug 633190.  This is an regression.

Shouldn't the test from 633190 have caught this regression? Anyway, I see animations with Ctrl+T (trunk on Linux). Animations work with both ways on Mac, too (Nightly).
It's really odd.  It works fine if I do it in a new profile.
