User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:5.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/5.0 Build ID: 20110628233112 Steps to reproduce: I installed the Add-on Compatibility reporter in FF trunk 7.0a1, now 8.0a1 on Kubuntu 11.04. Most of my add-ons marked as incompatible work now in trunk. Actual results: FF does NOT find updates for add-ons marked as incompatible which nevertheless work with the Add-on Compatibility Reporter although newer versions are available. Examples: Windfox, Flagfox, CoolPreviews. Expected results: FF should offer to update to newer add-on versions.
Just to clarify: I observed this behaviour both in 7.0a1 and 8.0a1.

What do you mean with "serious"? If the Add-on Compatibility Reporter enables incompatible add-ons it should not prevent updating these add-ons (even if the updates are still marked as incompatible) as these updates often fix more or less serious bugs. I don't know if the Add-on Compatibility Reporter itself or the FF update mechanism is responsible. In any case, it should be fixed IMHO.
My understanding is that all addons (active, disabled, incompatible) should be updated by the AOM. If the ACR is breaking this, then it is serious.

Thomas, about which add-ons are you talking? Can you please give us a bit more information? Thanks.
Henrik, I'm talking about extensions. Examples: In FF 5 I have Stylish in version 1.2. In 8.0a1 I have Stylish in version 1.1.2 - and 8.0a1 says that there are no updates. In FF5 I have What's That Preference? in version 0.3. In 8.0a1 I have it in version 0.2 - again no update offered. Other examples are mentioned in my first post.
