User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10_6_8; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.21.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.5 Safari/533.21.1

Steps to reproduce:

I upgraded my old Thunderbird (3.something) to Thunderbird 5.0.

Actual results:

From time to time, Thunderbird pops up. I can't find a reason for this behaviour (no failures, alerts, ...) It seems to be related to the Lightning add-on. Since there was no issue on the previous version of Thunderbird, I am filling the bug under Thunderbird.

I found a couple of interesting things:
1) Closing the Lightning sidebar doesn't make the problem go away.
2) Closing the Lightning tab doesn't make the problem go away.
3) Disabling Lightning DOES make the problem go away.

Versions:
Mac OS X 10.6.8
Thunderbird 5.0
Lightning 1.0b4
Provider for Google Calendar 0.8
Dictionnaire français <<Moderne>> 4.2

Expected results:

Thunderbird shouldn't pop (steals focus) from other applications unless there is a good reason.

Benoit, thanks for the detailed report.
Can you still reproduce this?

benoit wrote to me - I haven't used Thunderbird in a while (using my tablet instead) so I really can't say if the bug is still there. I didn't notice any problems last time I opened ThunderBird but I can't say I was paying attention.

(ccing a couple calendar users who can feel free to disagee with the closure)

I have never seen this on my Mac. But 38.7.1 keeps crashing.
