User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:7.0a2) Gecko/20110714 Firefox/7.0a2 Build ID: 20110714042001 Steps to reproduce: This is a feature request. It would be great if the Panorama workspace could be larger than the window size. This would make it possible to organize a larger number of groups (>4, say) while still having meaningful display of the tabs contain within. At the moment, there is an implicit limit on the number of tab groups, which limits usefulness. One could scroll around the workspace using scrollbars, but also by dragging the empty spaces between the tab groups with the mouse.

I second that proposition - currently i have many groups and they are not very usable as all of them are compacted to stack view. If the panorama viewport would be larger there should also be some zoom functionality. For example with mouse scroll wheel. That way navigation would be complete and user friendly - you could move the viewport by draging the empty space and quickly zoom in to see specific group and its tabs.
This is a serious problem for me, and anyone else who has huge numbers of tabs they want to organize. That is the purpose of tab groups, because while when you only have five tabs it is unneeded, people like me with seventy-two tabs (as of now) need a good way to organize them. I think horizontal scrolling would be good, just scroll right for more space. That would also make visual consistency with having more tabs of the tab *bar* by scrolling right. However, I doubt anyone will read this.
Panorama has been removed from Firefox 45, currently in Beta and scheduled for release on March 7th. As such, I'm closing all existing Panorama bugs. If you are still using Panorama, you will see a deprecation message in Firefox 44, and when 45 is released your tab group data will be migrated to bookmarks, with a folder for each group. There are also a few addons offering similar functionality. See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/tab-groups-removal for more info. We're removing Panorama because it has extremely low usage (about 0.01% of users), and has a large number of bugs and usability issues. The cost of fixing all those issues is far too high to justify, and so we'll instead be focusing our time and energy on improving other parts of Firefox.
