Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:5.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/5.0
Build ID: 20110615151330
Steps to reproduce:
I read a release notes for Firefox 6.
Actual results:
I realised that there are inaccurate information that may confuse user because they are not up to date with the current feature of Firefox. According to the release notes, if you do not want to participate in the beta program, you can switch to the release channel or manually install the latest release version.
Future more, there include a link to Firefox support telling users how to switch update channels.
Expected results:
Since it is not possible to switch update channel anymore, I believe articles(in Firefox Support) and release notes need to be updated in order to avoid user confusion.

Website containing not updated release notes.
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/6.0beta/releasenotes/
STR:
1. go to http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/how-do-i-switch-update-channels
2. read the release note until "manually install the latest release version of Firefox".
3. clink on the release channel link

Christian, yours is the only name in the file log, so I assume you're looking after this page. Wanna take this bug?

I actually submitted an update to that support article before 6 went live...Cheng, can you push it through?

We archived that article so it's not searchable from SUMO... I didn't realize that it was still being linked from anywhere.

It can be un-archived. The question is: is the article still wanted or would it be better to just remove "you can switch to the release channel or" from the release notes.

So the question now is whether you want to have a Release/Beta/Aurora/nightly Channel switcher? Judging from the last bugs concerning this issue the answer seems to be that Channel switcher will not return as a feature of Firefox.
I think the best way to solve this confusion is to remove the words "can switch to the release channel or manually" . so that it read "If you do not wish to participate in the beta program, you can (alternatively) install the latest released version of Firefox.
***Note: I wrote a typo error in the STR of comment 1.
It should be :
1. go to http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/6.0beta/releasenotes/
That seems like a better way to go.
