Gentlemen, when one puts the mouse upon a link, a preview of the URL is shown at the bottom of the screen. However for some DUMB REASON, it is truncated with its middle parts removed. That is just as bad as removing the front or the back. ESPECIALLY with tons of room remaining on the screen to show it. For SOME REASON you try to make it only fit half the width of the screen, DESPITE there being a whole right half of the screen to show the full URL. So you think NOBODY cares what the middle part of the URL contains. Just CLICK it and find out, right?? Just install an extension to fix your bug and who cares, perhaps? NO PLEASE. Yes I reported http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=625829 and waited and waited and install stupid overkill non-working extensions and removed them.

Yes I am talking about longer links. Shorter ones will fit in the left half of the screen and you will not see what I am talking about.
This happened in Firefox 4 in bug 633390, and uses half the screen so what's under the mouse isn't obscured. It changes to the opposite side of the screen to the mouse if pointed over. This is a possible dupe of bug 598273

Partially a duplicate of 632634?
So, bug 632634 covers extending the URL popup to cover all usable width. However, this will not prevent truncating in the middle of the URL if screen width is not enough to contain the URL. So my question to you is what is this bug report really about? Is it about not using half of the screen or is it about truncating in the middle?

1. I see I have to Click CC to get updates on my bug! OK, done. Hopefully works. Yes, it is a 99% duplicate of bug 632634 ... and I have never met a URL that goes 100% across the screen... and I say if I did ... I would not want anybody to truncate it either! However I hear there are URLs these days with entire GIF images encoded into them... Anyway, http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL648DE656FFB7A7A7 is full of long URLs that look frustratingly the same.
Driving people bananas please fix soon.
