Details

Mozilla 2001020508, Linux (Mandrake 7.2, glibc 2.2.1, kernel 2.4.0)

using squid 2.4 (recent cvs snapshot)

The proxy works perfectly for Netscape 4.7x, MSIE and Mozilla 0.7 clients.

Using the aforementioned daily build (2001020508), when trying to access any
secure page (e.g. https://www.fortify.net/sslcheck.html), it takes a long time,
about 1 or 2 minutes, and then says "The operation timed out attempting to
contact https://(address)".

If I configure Mozilla to not use a proxy server for HTTPS sites, it works. The
problem is only when using the proxy.
