HTTPS connections doesn't work through proxy

I see this under the 2001012821 Linux nightly (installer). If it's not the Installer build problem only then it must be a recent regression because in the last week the HTTPS through proxy worked fine.

HTTPS was browen during that time and was fixed on the 1st. Download one of the latest nightlies and retry. Reopen if this reoccurs again.

Ok we need some more information here, what proxy are you using? Version? Type etc? What site are you having problems with and what is the error message :) Thanks for your time.

Copying from my report of bug #67815 (which was a dupe of this one, sorry): Mozilla 2001020508, Linux (Mandrake 7.2, glibc 2.2.1, kernel 2.4.0) using squid 2.4 (recent cvs snapshot) The proxy works perfectly for Netscape 4.7x, MSIE and Mozilla 0.7 clients. Using the aforementioned daily build (2001020508), when trying to access any secure page (e.g. https://www.fortify.net/sslcheck.html), it takes a long time, about 1 or 2 minutes, and then says "The operation timed out attempting to contact https://(address)". If I configure Mozilla to not use a proxy server for HTTPS sites, it works. The problem is only when using the proxy.
I see exactly the same behavior except the proxy is squid 2.3.STABLE4

Not sure which bug to leave open. Will mark this one a dup, since the people cced on bug 31174 are likely to be interested in the state. (But in no case mark bug 31174 a dup of this one.) *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 31174 ***
