I guess a good first step would be to remove the requestLongerTimeout that I accidentally left in while I was getting this test working *sigh*

This fixes it on my Linux box. I think the screenshot is just a red herring. Window focus events on Linux can be a bit slow, so it seems the view is switching before we detect the window gets focus, so we continually wait for the view change.

It might be - the logs show networks requests to AMO, which is a recent issue and hopefully fixed by bug 709531 (landed a few hours ago). And historically, the timeouts here were only on Linux - but the most recent have been on all OSes, which makes me think it is due to the recent network issues. So hopefully future timeouts will only occur on Aurora/Beta, since they don't have this patch.
fwiw, we constantly getting this errors on all platforms when we are trying to test pdf.js add-on integration test... probably unrelated. (Our test looks fine; bug 714712)
