Hey Matej Waiting on the decision for final naming / branding of Mozilla Apps. I would like to have something highlighting the main benefit; cross-platform compatibility: SMARTER APPS: ANY DEVICE Fluid app experiences from PC to Phone to Tablet with Mozilla Apps Beta This is scheduled for launch on September 22nd - with localisation and implementation needed beforehand, so we should target September 9th for final decision on this text.

Sorry, is that Sept. 9 for the naming/branding, or when you need the snippet by?
When we'll need the snippet by - though it's my estimate. Laura, can you confirm the lead time for l10n implementation? I don't have visibility on naming atm.

Sorry, Dan. Looking at this again I think I still need a bit more clarification. Am I waiting until the name is settled on? I feel like it would be hard to write a snippet without it. (Or should I just use Mozilla Apps Beta for now?) Also, what are we trying to get people to do here? Visit a site? Download something? Or is this just an announcement? Anything you could link me to or any more background info you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Dan - l10n usually needs about 2-3 weeks to localize. Please file a separate bug for that. here's some information on snippet process: https://intranet.mozilla.org/Marketing/StartPageSnippets#Updating_Snippets_Through_The_Snippet_Service If we're pushing to multiple locales a batch import will be needed at some point by WebDev. Allow 3 additional days for that.

Hey Guys Now we have an updated launch timeline for the Marketplace, I wanted to reopen this bug. We are targeting an Alpha 1 launch on August 28th, where the Marketplace will go live in the following EN markets: USA, UK, Canada, Ireland, Australia. The release channels we are targeting for the Alpha 1 launch are Nightly, Aurora and Beta. Three snippets are required in total, one for each of the following app categories: 1. Games [?src=external-alpha1-snippet-1] 2. Productivity [?src=external-alpha1-snippet-2] 3. News & Media [?src=external-alpha1-snippet-3] Tracking tags are in square brackets. Requirements are as follows: 1. Apps for each category will need to be switched with a new app EVERY TWO WEEKS. 2. An icon for each app is needed for each app snippet; please provide the specs so Diana can source the images correctly. 3. Each app snippet must be tagged with the above ?src= tags 4. Matej - so that we only need to change the name of the App each time (and don't have to rewrite the snippet), please can you make the copy flexible and straightforward to update? 5. Diana will provide the partners and icons for the first snippet by August 7th. 6. In future we would like to introduce a CMS so this is less of a manual process; I'll schedule a meeting to discuss how we might go about this.

Might be a good idea to try some app names in the placeholder spots to make sure they'll work, but I think it should be OK. Hey Matej - these look good; one change is that they need to have "Alpha 1" clearly mentioned somewhere. Also, lets use 'Firefox Marketplace' until we're told otherwise. e.g. Stay on top of latest. Try the [APP NAME] app from the Firefox Marketplace Alpha 1 Release.
My recommendation would be to put "alpha 1 release" in parentheses, so you'd get this: Stay on top of latest. Get the [APP NAME] app from the Firefox Marketplace (alpha 1 release). It doesn't call as much attention to it. Otherwise we have to change it to "during," which is a bit clunky: Stay on top of latest. Get the [APP NAME] app during the Firefox Marketplace alpha 1 release. Let me know what you think. I'm also still getting conflicting information on "Firefox Marketplace." I know these don't go live for a while, but I'm hesitant to use it until the pages these would link to make the change.
Fwiw, the latest on Firefox Marketplace (per a meeting I had with Dave & Pete earlier in the week) is that it's still not officially resolved. Pete will have more info on timing and next steps. Really though, it's easy enough to change Firefox to Mozilla (or vice versa) in text, so it's probably fine to use either at this point.
