Currently, http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/ has a blue button on it that reads - Get Firefox for Android Let's go ahead and simplify the user's flow and take out that step, which just takes the user to the download page and provide the user with a direct download
In addition to changing the color of the button to green, let's also add a small phone/Android icon in the button
(In reply to Jaclyn Fu from comment #1) > In addition to changing the color of the button to green, let's also add a > small phone/Android icon in the button To Jaclyn's note, use one of the existing buttons if it's already got that in the design (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/channel/). If not, out of scope for this bug and we'll look to updating all buttons on mobile pages in a new bug.

Done in trunk: http://www-trunk.stage.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/ Note that I took a few liberties: * Button text was taken from mozilla.org/mobile button * "Supported Devices" link was also taken from mozilla.org/mobile

Liberties = brilliant Way way more useful experience for the user here now. Thank YOU!
I hate to say it, but I actually find having two green buttons on the same page very less than ideal. We should discuss further before pushing this live.

That said, we're about to push: http://www-trunk.stage.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/ So it might not be super relevant for more than a week - but it would be great to gather user behavior in that short timeframe. I was unaware of http://www-trunk.stage.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/ until a minute ago. Thoughts? ~cb

I like the "Green for primary action, blue for other" scheme. (In reply to mcbmoz from comment #7) > I don't think it's ideal (and, I would advocate for taking off the desktop > button and replacing it with a text link). I think the desktop download button on this page is still important. If I visit mozilla.org/firefox from my Firefox browser, copy the URL, and share it with a friend (email, blog, twitter, etc.), and they follow that link with IE or Chrome, they'll see this page. Also, www.mozilla.org/firefox/fx/ is the second result in Google for "Firefox" for me as of today.

Hey Steven, John's about to weigh back in, I don't want to overthink this bug since the page is about to be retired and replaced. But let's look towards what we want to do with the mobile download button long-term over here with Bug 682375 - I'd like to get the mobile buttons in better shape and simplify the javascript libraries, etc. with you. Meanwhile, from the Metrics Blog on why Firefox is green: blog.mozilla.com/metrics/2009/06/19/firefox-is-green/ :)CB
Since this page is going to be refreshed soon, let's push this change live and gather as much data as we can to hopefully learn more about these buttons thanks!

I don't love the double green buttons, but am fine with pushing this change live for a few days so we can gather data. Do we need to wait for the next release or can this go out sooner? Also, can you confirm that this page will be fully replaced by the email one, or will there be a rotation?
(In reply to John Slater from comment #12) > Also, can you confirm that this page will be fully replaced by the email > one, or will there be a rotation? I'll check with James about pushing this as soon as it gets through QA. This feature runs 50/50 with the email feature.
