Right now, we set window size to 980px for desktop sites, but if there is overflow we zoom out. This is detrimental to any sites that overflow considerably, for instance planet.mozilla.org on occasion when someone includes a <pre>.

Good idea.  This won't affect most normal sites, but it will prevent Fennec from starting at ridiculously small levels when a site's content is much wider than its viewport (as happens occasionally on Planet Mozilla).
