When I paste a piece of spreadsheet from OpenOffice into a new mail, it does get converted nicely into an HTML table.
Unfortunately, any characters, that were struck-through (crossed-out) in the spreadsheet, appear normal in the e-mail. I have to go to Format->Text Style->Strikethrough manually to re-apply the formatting I've already applied while in OpenOffice.

Mikhail,
Could you provide a sample of exactly what you are trying to paste.
Just pasting it in as a comment should be fine.

Joe, pasting /anything/ would show it. Create a 2x2 table (A1, B1, A2, B2) with values (1, 2, 3, 4), select the four cells, then copy and paste them into composer.
You will get a 2x2 table in the composer, but whatever text you had in the message already will shrink down.

And do you get the same types of results when pasting into http://www.mozilla.org/editor/midasdemo/ ?

I'm sorry for the confusion in comment #2. It was meant for a different (if related) bug.
Here is a sample spreadsheet containing both a struck-out and a bold word. Neither attribute is preserved, when copy-pasting into composer. The Midas-editor shows the same problem.
Copy-pasting from Libreoffice wordprocessor works fine, but from spreadsheet -- does not...

Mikhail, does the original problem still exist for you with version 115?

(In reply to Wayne Mery (:wsmwk) from comment #5)
Mikhail, does the original problem still exist for you with version 115?
No, the style seems to survive copy-pasting now. The other problem -- the entire text of the message turning much smaller (and otherwise adopting the style of the copy-pasted snippet). But that is a separate ticket (Bug 221655).
