Details

If one right clicks on a mailto link and picks "copy link location", the link location is *not* copied to the clipboard if the mail/news component is not installed. This is related to bug 11459 and bug 56478. In fact, it makes those bugs more annoying -- I often copy addresses this way and paste them into a terminal window....
