I talked with some people about this in #mozwebtools and they all liked it. It
would be cool if we had something like Google:
an "I'm feeling lucky!" button. This button would go to a random bug in a random
component, but it should only go to a bug which was UNCO, ASSI, NEW or REOP.
Doesn't this just sound fun? :)
BTW, if a component is specific - don't randomize component. So we should only
randomize the required parameters that is missing, and interpret all the others.

I duped that bug against this, because this bug is better described IMHO.

I'm going to implement this for fun. I actually started a while back but got
distracted by queryhelp.cgi problems.

To look at what I have so far, you can go to
http://bugzilla.netdemonz.com/random.cgi - have some random fun!
I think its pretty much finished.

I would want this to be incorporated into the Query page. And there's no need
for an additional listbox with products because the "I'm Feeling Lucky" button
should just take the information available (i.e what you have selected, like
ASSI, NEW, RESO and Browser-General) then it should randomize using that
information.

ugh, ok. I really wish you had written a little more information about what you
wanted when you wrote the report.

I would prefer an "I'm feeling lucky!" checkbox on the search page.
It would take you to a random result without building the entire list.
You could then have a saved search that took you to a random unconfirmed bug.

I'm going to do a button, just because a checkbox requires storing info on the
server for the user for a cutesy feature. A cutesy feature shouldn't take up
space. Yeah, I know about quips, but that is different. :-)
I am rewriting query.cgi, so I will be doing this at the same time. Bug 16775

Can we please add the word "random" to the summary so that people can actually
find this bug?
Summary: Would be cool with "I'm feeling lucky!" in Bugzilla → Would be cool with "I'm feeling lucky!" in Bugzilla (random bug queries)

I find this pretty interesting. Maybe as a plug-in/extension/param, but it's a
valid enhancement request (and it's milestoned to future, anyway).

You can have it, then. I doubt this would ever make it into the tree... You'd
have to supply it seperately.
Now, if you made it so a user could limit within the query what's returned to a
certain number of bugs, with the number being to their choosing, then this would
be a trivial return of 1 bug. A feature to limit the number of bugs returned, if
feasable, might be accepted and then this would be able to use that (and
therefore it could be given away as a patch, but not included in the tree).

I haven't said that I'll code it, just specified it was a valid request in my
opinion. :-)
Reassigning to default owner & QA.

Reassigning bugs that I'm not actively working on to the default component owner
in order to try to make some sanity out of my personal buglist. This doesn't
mean the bug isn't being dealt with, just that I'm not the one doing it. If you
are dealing with this bug, please assign it to yourself.

I don't think Bug 370278 is complete duplicate. The feel-lucky part is. 370278 is about helping with the testing and verification of bugs so programmers can worry about programming and people who like testing can worry about testing... Just my thoughts. It is up to the community to decide I suppose.

this isn't that useful, and could be better implemented by an external system.
