STR 1) view mail with multiple attachments 2) for easier analysis of this bug, set browser.download.manager.closeWhenDone to /false/ (tools > options > advanced > general > config editor) 3) ensure that "Saved Files" download manager window is closed 4) double-click on attachment_1 to open/save it (do not close "saved files" manager manually) 5) double-click on attachment_2 (or any attachment of a different mail) to open/save it Actual Result - after 4): TB sends "Saved Files" window to foreground while downloading, for non-small files at least (ok) - after 5): TB does not re-send existing "Saved Files" window from background to foreground for any subsequent downloads (the bug). This is confusing for user as there is no visual feedback for the download in 5), and it's violating ux-consistency and ux-feedback. It's also violating ux-efficiency as user needs to manually re-foreground the "saved files" window, e.g. with alt+tab or Ctrl+J. Expected result - after 5): same as 4): TB should re-activate existing "Saved Files" window and send it to the foreground. Behaviour/visual feedback should be consistent for first and subsequent downloads. Notes: Technically, STR 2) preference is not required for this bug (try big downloads instead), but this bug will be much more noticeable with that preference enabled.
Downloads aka "Saved Files" now live in a tab so this needs to be revisited (currently invalid).
