RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 678352

People

(Reporter: key88sf, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:7.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/7.0
Build ID: 20110922153450

Steps to reproduce:

a) Address bar autocomplete is ENABLED.
b) Start typing "http" in the address bar (was going to type http://www.somesite.com)

Actual results:

Autocomplete *overwrites* what I am typing with total garbage urls, for example:

address replaced with: "wtt"

Expected results:

Should let me type "http" and then complete the text *after* what I typed, instead of overwriting it.

have you set browser.urlbar.autoFill to true? If so perhaps you ought to set it back to false.
Perhaps you ought to fix the bug instead of advising to turn off the feature. It worked fine in FF 4, 5, and 6.
This should be duplication of Bug 678352

Yeah it's a duplicate of that bug.
